Team Journal Week 06

Alexis Bloom

Continuing with the same pattern as the last 4 weeks, Alexis and Juan focused solely on animation, while Chris animated and took care of whatever else happened to pop up, along with assembling shots to render. Avery has been assembling shots but can’t assemble them as fast as they are being sent to render, so in the coming days everyone will be assembling them. It is a very specific process and any mistakes will cost hours of render time, so here’s hoping everyone follows the checklist exactly.

Zack and Avery also completed the smoke for one of the destruction scenes, and because we are comping with Nuke’s 3D tools these assets can be placed in any scene now on cards without any more rendering from maya.

The shots we do have rendered need to be comp’d. We’ve set our pipeline up to give us flexibility with lighting in post, which means that straight out of the render a lot of shots need touching up with lights that are there but not turned on etc.
