Juan Garzon Week 02 Journal

Juan Garzon

“Under analysis is how I got a D in English, though to be fair, I wrote English with a ‘D’ ”

-Juan

So where are we? well besides a pretty good second week on all fronts, aside from my ankle acting up not 4 hours ago and House Garzon is having officially declared war on the Stomach bug, and cleaning up the Annexed attic from the aftermath of the Rat war (we tend to stay busy against germs during the cold months); all things are looking well for me.

So in terms of SPROJ, what did I do? Well for starters, I’ve been primarily working on concepting the designing a specialized gun for our project; needless to say, I’ve gotten a lot of work done on evolving the gun from its first design to the point that it is today. I began to design the gun more off designs used for shotguns (both long and sawed off barrels, see below)

BeeGun Designs v04

(note: the top part of the design was a rifle that Avery drew in explaining gun mechanics)

However, after a few critiques on the mechanics of gun ergonomics, I had to change it a few times more to get it to a stage that looked believable, but still sell the look that the gun would shoot bees (See below):

BeeGun Designs v08

Outside of the realm of guns and designing similar weapons, I was tasked in modeling an asset for our film, a goo bomb, and rig it to have a visible “armed” function. the only thing left is to UV unwrapped and… well… that should be fun…

Positives: Got my work done, didn’t get sick, and was quite productive in my designs and research on what I needed from each gun, and modeled a needed asset, took a while, but I got the look I wanted.

Negatives: Well, I got most of my designs done for this week, though I was unable to hit one design deadline for a costume design I was going to do (on the bright side, Alexis did an excellent job on the designs), also it’s been a while since I concepted work using a WACOM pad, so it was a bit of a learning curve in getting it to work for me, and such, slowing me down.

My stylus nib broke… and that’s sad too.
