Alexis Bloom Week 01 Journal
Welcome Back, Jack
This was the first week back after winter break. We took the break as an opportunity to rest and recharge, rather than work our butts off. we did get some work done over the break, but the main priority was to recharge before coming back to class. This week, we jumped right back into work as if nothing has changed. We have a good plan set up with reasonable deadlines for this term. We need to buckle down and work.
This week, I was put on costume design. I concepted a lot of accessories and color schemes for two of our three characters. I thought it would be a good approach to draw a bunch of accessories and color schemes in order to pick out the few that we like. I think it’s more efficient than drawing hundreds of fully thought out costumes.
In addition to that, we had two group meetings (one with our advisor) to hash out deadlines. We went over what we got done over break and firmed up some deadlines. Our advisor seems pleased with where we are, but tells us we need to buckle down this quarter in order to be in a very good place by the end of term.
Hours breakdown:
- Advisor Meeting: Met with John Berton to explain what we did over the break. (1.5 hour)
- Group Meeting: First group meeting after break. Went over new deadlines for the term. (1 hour)
- Concept Art: Worked on costume designs (4 hours)

Positives:
We had a nice long break and seem ready to jump right back into work. We had a productive meeting going over deadlines. I’m very excited to start working again.
Negatives:
Not as much got done over break as we would have liked.
